Saint Paul Parish

3rd Sunday of Lent

“Living Water”

Dear Friends in Christ, The past few weeks our Spanish Mass has been totally packed. Many new families have registered. I don’t know what is behind all this. I know that our Religious Education program in Spanish is overflowing and we have had to get more teachers. We have been making use of Northwest Family Services to put on a program of Marriage Enrichment, and we have over 30 couples enthusiastically participating. This is definitely stretching our facilities and our programs!Along this line, one of the goals coming out of Long Range Planning is bringing the Spanish and English speaking programs together. The Pastoral Council has been talking about having one Religious Education program. This is a terrific idea but has a lot of logistical problems. We are putting together a committee to study this proposal. If any of you would like to be on this committee, please let me know. It has been suggested that we simply implement this idea. However, it has so many ramifications: Mass times, should we do religious education on two different days to accommodate everyone? This has so many implications, and seems almost overwhelming, so this will be a very important committee. I want to again make note of the bi-millennium of St. Paul beginning in June as another opportunity to do activities and programs together. This is definitely a major issue for our parish, but I also see it as a terrific opportunity.Fr. Joe’s health continues to improve and he has been celebrating the Eucharist on a regular basis again. This has been a great help to me.I have been continuing to use the parish list to remember you in my prayers and I have found this to be a great Lenten practice. Not everyone is in the pictorial directory so I find myself using several different lists. It sure helps when I actually see your picture. I hope your Lenten practices are going well.Blessings to all,Fr. William
